Part-time Mermaid meets her Sailor (& Dinghy Cowboy Extroidinaire!)

We initially met several years ago through our NYC sailing community, the Manhattan Sailing Club, but it wasn't until February 2015 that we got together. It was while sailing the Grenadines with our NYC friends, that the two of us struck up a conversation one night at a tiny island bar called "Happy Island". As the week progressed, we got to know more about each other, swapped stories of growing up & had a bunch of laughs while laying on the deck of our sailboats watching the stars in Tobago Cays, climbing atop thatch huts at a beachfront bar in Petite St Vincent, sailing & racing past the underwater volcano 'Kick'em jenny', & of course, over rum drinks in the company of great friends.

Upon returning to NYC, Mike wooed Andrea with various homemade baked goods, Thin Mint Girl Scout cookies & funny post-it note drawings. As we got to know each other, we decided to travel together and ventured off on trips to Turkey, Prague, Hong Kong, Thailand, Niagara Falls, & Charleston, SC. Amidst these adventures, on Thanksgiving weekend of 2015, Mike proposed to Andrea under a mist of rain, on the seashell-covered-sand of Hammonasset Beach near Andrea's hometown of Clinton, CT. Her parents Dennis & Evelyn, & older sister Diane, knew of the proposal & greeted them, after they returned to the house, with pink champagne. Mike's parents Sang Hwan & Hwa Suk, & sisters Suzy & Cindy, cheered from NYC & over the phone!

Our excitement continues & we are thrilled to get married & celebrate with our family from around the country & the world, along with our childhood, college, city, & sailing friends! We will be enjoying our honeymoon in February 2017 in New Zealand & French Polynesia!
